Five Dimming Methods for LED Lighting
Nowadays, most of the LED lighting problems are caused by the mismatch between the control system and the light source appliances, which has become a common problem in the industry. At the same time, the diversification of LED also poses a higher challenge to the control system. Because the principle of LED is different from traditional lighting, it depends on P-N junction to emit light, and the LED light source with the same power. Because the chip used is different, the parameters of current and voltage are different, so its internal wiring structure and circuit distribution are different, which leads to different requirements of light source for dimming driver of each manufacturer. If the control system and lighting equipment do not match, it may cause the lights to go out or flicker, and may cause damage to the driving circuit and light source of the LED.
There are five control modes of LED lighting equipment in the market:
1. Front Phase Cutting (FPC), Thyristor Dimming
2. Rear-edge tangent (RPC) MOS tube dimming
4. DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface)
5. DMX512 (or DMX)
